SSMP Sewer Cleaning  and Video Inspection Project

This project consisted of the cleaning and videoing of 100% of the District’s sewer mains. Mandated by the State, the District’s Sanitary Sewer Management Plan ("SSMP") requires the District to flush or clean 1/4 of its sewer system each year, as mandated by the State of California.  At the time, the District did not own sewer cleaning equipment.  Thus, we contracted with National Plant Services Inc. for the cleaning and videoing of the District’s sewer system. This project was completed in October, 2015.

In early 2016, the District purchased a large scale "Vac truck" which is a vacuum truck specifically designed for cleaning utility district sewer systems.  This allows District staff to clean the sewer system more efficiently, more timely, and at a lower cost.
